June 10, 2021 – Andrew Jarocki, a lifelong Duluthian, officially filed today as a candidate for Duluth City Council. Jarocki will seek to represent District 2, an area stretching across the eastern side of the city.
“Duluth is my home,” said Jarocki, “and serving our community is my greatest passion.” Jarocki explained that his campaign would focus on unleashing Duluth’s economic potential: “Duluth is well-situated for a Great Recovery as we emerge from the pandemic. Our red-hot housing market right now indicates that others are recognizing our potential. On the Council, I will work to ensure Duluth is the best place to raise a family and open a business anywhere in the Northland.”
Jarocki is a 2016 graduate of Marshall High School. He holds a degree in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Notre Dame. His favorite hobbies include mountain biking in Duluth parks and volunteering with local groups like the Boy Scouts. More information about him is available at AndrewForDuluth.com.
“In my current position as a Lead for America Fellow working on public housing policy in the region, I deeply understand how wise local leadership can lift up communities,” added Jarocki. “Our neighborhoods need a city council that encourages economic opportunity and invests in public safety. I am excited to get to work.”
